Workshop on Embedded System

Dr. Y. S. Rao from IIT Bombay conducted this workshop to build and develop software for an embedded system. Automation is the need of the hour, one should know software and hardware development for a given application, hence this workshop. For the past several years he has conducted training for the students for developing real-time systems. During his research at IIT-B he formed one company along with three more research scholars. He has giving corporate training to Siemens, L&T, Carrox, Microtech, Flareum etc.

Android Workshop

The Android OS is an open source operating system primarily used in mobile devices. Any kind of smart phone requires OS as an interface and android is the most popular OS today. Brands are rushing ahead at breakneck speed to build their apps on the Android OS, and that trend has opened up enormous job opportunities in the Android domain.  Keeping this scenario in mind and for betterment of our students, we arrange android application development workshop at our institute. This workshop provided fundamentals of android applications development from theoretical as well as practical domain.

Workshop on Organizational Behaviour

One of the main goals of organizational theorists in OB is "to revitalize organizational theory and develop a better conceptualization of organizational life. ‘Don’t show your certificates show your knowledge’ shared Mr. Chaubey, Head – Marketing, Rashmi Construction. He explained our students about how one should behave in an organization. It was an interactive and informative session. He explained about three components stating ‘Pack yourself with Knowledge, use it at the right Place and at the Right time.’

Guidance Lecture on Research Activities that can be chosen by students

Prof. Vivek Agarwal from IIT Bombay conducted a guidance lecture on various research activities that can be chosen by students as their career path. His main research areas are power electronics, renewable energy and electronic systems. He works on the modeling, design and development of new power converter configurations, intelligent and hybrid control of power electronic systems, power quality issues, electromagnetic interference (EMI)/electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) issues, and conditioning of energy from renewable energy sources and their interfaces for stand-alone and grid connected applications.

Expert Lecture on Corporate Behaviour

Expert lecture was conducted by Mr. Sanjay Choubey on Corporate Behaviour for 3rd year students. Speaker of the event, Mr. Sanjay Choubey, Marketing Head, Rashmi Group, guided the students about how it is important to make themselves market ready so that one should be able to grab good opportunities in terms of placement in the future. He has also guided how to prepare resume with technical data and extra-curricular activities. He also put up the light on issue like academic-industry interaction to understand the needs of the industry and to get prepared accordingly.

Seminar on STAADPRO

Seminar on use of STAADPRO in analysis and design by Mr. Pathan and Mr. Ibrahim was conducted wherein students were provided with information regarding the softwares used by civil engineering, practitioners for RCC and steel design project management and 3D modeling which is now-a-days commonly used by the architects.

Expert lecture on Engineering Geology

This lecture has given the insight in understanding the use of Engineering Geology by studying the various rocks and minerals present in the earth crust and how they are useful in mining like coal, aluminium, bauxite and petroleum products like tar, mineral, oil, sand and gases. This soil exploration data helps in drilling operation and extraction of various rocks and minerals and other natural treasure present in the earth crust.

Workshop on Stress Management

Ms. Megha Trivedi and Ms. Sarika explained, how to manage our stress, maintain our health and how to deal with different relations at work place, home and in society. She took different activities like meditations, group activities and yoga exercise.

Workshop on DRUPAL

This workshop was hosted by IIT Bombay at their campus. Our faculty and students from 3rd year Computer stream attended the workshop. Drupal is the new database management tool introduced by IIT Bombay. Students were enlightened with new open source technology. All students were awarded by certificate of appreciation.

Seminar on use of Auto cad

Modern practices in the field for the practitoners shows the need of making the students aware of Computer Aided Drawings which save the time in designing, immensely. This workshop has benefitted the students to a great extent.

Faculty workshop on ‘Recent Advances & Modern Practices in Transportation Engineering’

One week, STTP – Short Term Training Program was hosted by our the Civil Engineering Department. The program was aimed to train the faculties of Mumbai University and to update their subject knowledge. Participants were from degree colleges having civil engineering stream as well as from Polytechnics colleges.
