On 2nd of February, 2017 the CSI-UCOE Student chapter had arranged a workshop on Latex at Universal College of Engineering. The workshop was conducted by Prof. Vishakha Shelke from Computer Dept. of UCOE. It had an overwhelming participation from students which made it difficult to accommodate the entiremembers at the venue.
CSI students’ chapter of Universal College of Engineering organized a workshop on Data Integration by Prof. Prajnya Satapathy from the Computer department. The workshop was attended by SE, TE as well as BE students. It was a great success as more than 65 students were present for the seminar.
On 20th of February, 2017 A visiting faculty of Terna colleges Prof Likhesh Khole conducted a workshop on Big data. The interesting topics on Big data taught to us were what is big data, where it is used and how it is used the upcoming trend in big data.
An Industry visit to MAHANAND DAIRY, was organized by the Corporate Resource Cell Team on 23th Feb for engineering students. The objective of this visit was to study and understand the production and operation of Mahanand Dairy.The main objective of the visit was to teach the students about the Enterprise resource planning (ERP) that is business process management software that allows an organization to use a system of integrated applications to manage the business and automate many back office functions related to technology, services and human resources.
A CSI Foundation Day was held on 6th March 2017 at IIT Bombay, Powai. The main topics of the event were Software Management Challenges and Opportunities, Software Analytics and Measurement. It was a full day event. Dr F.C. Kohli and Mr Thomas Cagley were also present at the workshop including the Chairman and Managing committee of CSI
One of the college faculty By Prof John Kenny conducted a workshop on Python. The interesting topics of this workshop were what is Python, how the programming language is used, where it is used and some basic syntax to write Python program and how it is becoming one of the emerging Web Development language nowadays.
On 10st March 2017, Ubuntu Perl Workshop was delivered by Prof. Hazel Lopez. Total 35 members attended the workshop. An overview of the syntax was explained to the members, along with the explanation of data types, variables, loops, and operators. The members were also briefed about the subroutines and error handling in Perl.
On 18th March 2017, Universal College of Engineering got an opportunity to visit the DRM office in Mumbai Central East. Two faculties- Prof. Maya Varghese and Prof. Snehal. Sherkhane along with 30 CSI student members of CSI visited the site. The students there were assisted by two of the officers :- Mr Jagesh Karunakaran and Mr Mahendra Kudtarkar. The objective was to study and understand how the western railway works and how a person can analyze everything about all the incoming and outgoing trains from Churchgate to Virar which is now in the process of extending about to Dahanu..
The CSI-Student chapter,UCoE had organized a workshop on Network Simulator on 6th of April which was conducted by Prof. Gaurav Wagh who has a lot of experience and knowledge regarding the same. The workshop began with Sir explaining how network simulator is used to create and test various scenarios of a network, simulate the nodes and communication between them in finite time limit.We were also shown the installation process of NS-2.
The UCOE-CSI student chapter organized a seminar on ASP.NET by Prof. HiralRaveshiya who has a good knowledge and experience of the .NET framework was conducted on 29th July,2017 at Universal College of Engineering. The seminar began with a brief introduction to the ASP.NET framework of how it is used to execute and run projects constituting of parts coded in various programming languages all on one platform thus providing feature of interoperability within a project. It was taught using Visual Studio 2010 tool focussing primarily on C# .

The workshop was attended by FE, SE as well as TE students. It was a great success as more than 60 students were present for the complete two days of workshop.

Robotics club of UCOE has conducted two day’s workshop on ‘Raspberry pi ‘during 16th September 2017 and 18th September 2017. Total 50 participants attended the workshop. During the program introduction to raspberry pi and industrial applications of Rpi was discussed. Different software tools required for the design and development were discussed. The lectures were conducted along with hands on practical.
A workshop on Laravel was arranged by the CSI committee at Universal College of Engineering on 25th September, 2017. The workshop was delivered by Sandesh Sir from IT department and many members attended the workshop.Laravel is a powerful MVC PHP framework, designed for developers who need a simple and elegant toolkit to create full featured web applications. The workshop began with a basic introduction to Laravel before starting with hands on experience.
On 6th of October 2017, Universal College of Engineering had organised the Fourth National level Technical paper presentation in Association with Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (I.E.T.E.), I.ET.E Students Forum (I.S.F.), Computer Society of India (C.S.I.) and International Society of Automation (I.S.A.). The goal of the event was to promote research and development activities in students pursuing engineering as a career.
The UCOE-CSI student chapter in association with Robotics Klub UCOE had organized a one day workshop on wired and wireless workshop by Prof. SandeepDubey who has a good knowledge and experience Robotics. This hands-on training was conducted on 19th January,2018 at Universal College of Engineering. The seminar began with a brief introduction to the wired and wireless techniques used to execute and run projects in various platforms thus providing feature of interoperability within a project. Students were explained about the scope and future of Robotics followed by hands-on experience of how to make a wired robot and how to convert it into a wireless one. Total 37 student from all years and all stream participated.
The UCOE-CSI student chapter organized a seminar on Deployment of Website on Amazon EC 2 by Prof. VishakaShelke who has a good knowledge and experience on the Amazon Web Services was conducted on 30th January, 2018 at Universal College of Engineering. The seminar began with a brief introduction to the Amazon EC2 Services. It included services provided by Amazon EC2, advantages and features of Amazon EC2. It also covered on how to use the EC2 services provided by Amazon along with the required steps. Each step for deploying a website was covered by clearly explaining it with the help of screenshot. Deployment of website was clearly explained using an industry based example.
Universal College of Engineering hosted the intercollegiate Project Competition on Smart City on 2nd of February, owing to pre-event of CSI-TechNext 2018. The fest was meant specifically for all the students across the city with an intention to give them an opportunity to showcase their innovative idea through projects in various domains of engineering.The event witnessed an active participation by the students with a headcount of approximately 59,and an overwhelming response.
The UCOE-CSI student chapter organized a seminar on Practical Approach towards Computer Networks by Mr.Kalpesh Vartak and Mr.Saurabh Matre from Capgemini on 17th March, 2018 at Universal College of Engineering. These industrialist had a good knowledge and experience on the Computer Networks and are working as System Adminstrators.They explained about their interest and zeal in their working environment, and also motivated to take up a career in Computer Networks by describing various opportunities in the same domain.
A seminar on digital marketing was organized by CSI-UCOE and I.T department at Universal College of Engineering on 28th March, 2018.
Digital marketing is the marketing of products or services using digital technologies, mainly on the Internet, but also including mobile phones, display advertising, and any other digital medium. Digital marketing's development since the 1990s and 2000s has changed the way brands and businesses use technology for marketing.
A Workshop on SQL Injection and Password tracing was arranged by the CSI committee at Universal College of Engineering. The workshop was delivered by Mr. Sridhar Iyer and Mr. ChinmayRaut.This workshop would help the students to build the knowledge in the field of security and hacking. The word “ETHICAL” make you realize your moral and not to do bad things in cyber world. The workshop covered sections such as password tracing, SQL injection ethically.
CSI student’s chapter of Universal College of Engineering organized a Summer Internship on Firebird V Robot which started at 18th June and completed on 30thJune . A total of 07 students attended this workshop that was conducted in Lab .
In this internship program , the Firebird V Robot was interfaced with ATmega2560 Microcontroller . The ATxmega series have features like 6–384 KB program memory, DMA and cryptography support. It was then interfaced with PIR (Passive InfraRed Sensor), Servo motor, Gripper, RFID(Radio Frequency Identification), TSOP IR(Thin Small Outline Package), Zigbee and accelerometer and implementation of SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) protocol.
CSI student’s chapter of Universal College of Engineering organized a
hands-on workshop on TROUBLESHOOTING IN LAPTOPS on 20th JULY 2018. This workshop was conducted in Computer Resource Room by Mr.Anil Gupta. The seminar consisted of various topics like Security, Firewall, Virus, BasicHouseheld Troubleshooting for various problems and Systems used in our Institute to provide uninterrupted data and network service. Students were given a practical view of various hardware and server components like UPS, IP-Cam, Motherboards, Hardware, Firewalls and many more.
CSI student’s chapter of Universal College of Engineering organized Ethical Hacking seminar which was conducted on 8th August, 2018. 80 students attended this seminar that was conducted in the seminar hall. This seminar was conducted by Chinmay sir and Sridhar sir. Topics covered were Types of the attack, Introduction to Network Security, and Wireless demonstration was given to the students.
CSI student’s chapter of Universal College of Engineering organized asp.net workshop which was conducted on 24th August, 2018. 42 students attended this seminar that was conducted in the Classroom number - 416. This seminar was conducted by Mr. AniketKore . Topics covered were introduction to MVC4 ( i.e. Models of asp.net , Views of asp.net , Controllers of asp.net ) also demonstration of basic frontend development was given to the students.
